Babymoon - St. Lucia Part I - Our Villa

When we arrived, words can not express how breathtaking the view was, our jaws literally dropped! We had the best villa at the resort thanks to the kindness of the ladies Prescott emailed about bringing his pregnant wife to their resort for our Babymoon.  Well, boy did they respond with the view from this villa, all week we were told by our butlers and chauffeurs (yes, they had those!) that this was the best view on the island.

Walking up to our villa.

Prescott taking in the view.

Yeah, he was pretty happy with it :)

View from our bedroom.

Baby and I standing on our private patio overlooking the ocean and Piton mountains.

Shot of St. Luciain rum and their island brewed beer.

Prescott finally got to have his long awaited Cuban cigar that is actually legal in St. Lucia.

Me chillin' by our private plunge pool.

One of the many gorgeous sunset views from our deck.

Waiting for the sun to go down.

As the sun went down!

Going to dinner at the grand room.

The sweetest welcome back from dinner gift I could ever imagine from one of the staff who I made friends with, she just had a little boy who was three months old.

Macrina put a trail of petals from the front door through our bedroom that ended at a hand drawn bubble bath!

One thing is for sure, the people we met from St. Lucia were some of the kindest, most thoughtful people you could ever imagine meeting.  So special.

Matt & Julie's Wedding - Pensacola Beach, FL

I hit 20 weeks and then Prescott and I hit the airport for our Babymoon, first stop was Pensacola Beach, FL for Matt and Julie's wedding. It was such a lovely ceremony on the beach...  White sand, beautiful sunset, warm water and most importantly a very special couple to celebrate!  We had a blast and were so grateful to be part of Matt and Julie's big day :)

Our Gender Reveal Party... It's a BOY!

We had an absolute blast at our gender reveal party yesterday and are so thankful to all of those who made it out to be there with us on such a special day!  Here are all of the fun details...

Pink or Blue? Which team are you?  Having everyone mark their guesses on the chalkboard was really fun, I'm so glad we added that little interactive element to our gender reveal party!  Also the pumpkin fluff dip was deliciously perfect and perfectly fitting being the first day of Fall and all ;)

Sweet sunflowers and card from a dear friend who couldn't make it to the party but wanted to drop by beforehand... Thanks Robin!

My little bump photo before everyone arrived taken by my loving husband and daddy-to-be!

Excited to reveal the gender to everyone...

Me and dad or soon to be gramps!

Me and Jodi, so thankful to have her love and support during my pregnancy.

Of course, I had to make a stellar dessert table ;) Considering it was football Sunday, I figured a football themed gender reveal party would be fitting.

Chocolate dipped strawberry footballs made by the amazing Amber, so lucky to have you as a friend and fellow baker :)

Homemade cookies and milk shooters with color coordinated straws... Super cute and super yummy!

Clavel marking her prediction on the board and as usual (whether it is dealing with an order at the bakery or dealing with something in my personal life) she was right, lol!

My right hand lady!  I couldn't do anything without her.  God has blessed me with a very talented pastry chef at the bakery and an extremely close friend in my life.

Yum, pizza! Being pregnant and all, I figured I'd keep it easy and Papa John's even customized the pepperonis in the shape of a question mark for me :)

And now time for the gender revealing dessert!!! And it's a...

...

...SURPRISE... It's a...

BOY!

Love this photo that my awesome friend Cosette took of Prescott and I explaining how we found out and thanking everyone for being there on such a special day in our life.  *don't fret, we are toasting with sparkling grape juice ;)

Me and all my lovely ladies :)

Big thanks to these two for all they have done and always continue to do to support me in my journey.

Team blue it is!

And that's it.  PS big thanks to Prescott's parents for sending us the flowers, we know you would have loved to have been there but we can't wait to see you at Christmas for the baby shower! Xoxo

Gameday Appetizer... Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Ball

This was sooo yummy and easy to make too... Win win!  It really was the perfect game day appetizer.  I found the recipe off Pinterest and made a couple of alterations, here is the recipe -

8 oz. reduced fat cream cheese (room temp)
3/4 cup no stir natural peanut butter or whatever creamy peanut butter you like ( just not oily or crunchy)
1 cup powdered sugar
3 Tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

- Cream all ingredients above in a stand mixer with paddle attachment until thick and creamy.
- Pour doughy batter into a long sheet of Saran Wrap and pull all edges up to form a wrapped ball and place in the freezer for an hour and a half
- In the meantime place dark chocolate chips and peanut butter chips on a flat plate
- Once ball is firm enough roll it in the chips and then place back in the freezer for a couple hours until totally firm.  You can refrigerate it then until ready to serve with pretzels, apples and/or graham crackers.

We made it to the second trimester!

Prescott and I having a celebratory dinner for making it to the second trimester, feeling better and having a healthy baby that is now 15 weeks old :) We are very thankful for all of these things and don't take any of them for granted!

Me at 15 weeks... Not sure when this baby bump is going to turn into an actual bump?!?!  For now I will continue to enjoy wearing my normal clothes and will be excited to buy my first maternity outfits once the time comes.

10 weeks - Making the glider!

Here I am at 10 weeks.  New symptoms are much more nausea and serious food cravings.  My top two cravings so far have been McDonald's bacon, egg and cheese biscuits (healthy, right!) and Subway veggie subs with LOTS of banana peppers... so weird!

The new project we took on for the nursery was to make our own glider and it was way easier than it sounds.  Those things were so expensive, so I got this chair at Ikea for $199 and then bought the glider attachment from the link below for $89 and tada a brand new reasonably priced glider that totally fits the look of our nursery.

Click on the Honey and Fitz blog link for detailed directions, that's what we followed :)

http://honeyandfitz.com/2011/06/15/converting-an-upholstered-chair-into-a-swivel-glider/

Take off the removable material covering the bottom of the chair

Drill in a custom cut piece of thick plywood to the bottom of the wood of the chair

drill in the glider attachment to the center of the plywood

Winston watched daddy put it together :)

Finished look and it rocks perfectly!
